About Star Anise
Star anise Vietnam (science name: Illicium verum), called star Aniseed is the fruit of Illicium verum. Vietnam Star aniseed is grown almost exclusively in Lang Son province by farmers from ethnic minority communities in northern highland areas and is traded and consumed globally. Most of Star Anise’s production in the world is used to produce Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) by Roche Pharmaceuticals, which accounts for 90% of the world production of Star Anise. In TAAM Spice Gallery, we source the best Star Anise from Lang Son province in Vietnam.  Star Anise is a perfect spice for stews and adds a unique flavour and great aroma to the food. You can also use star Anise to make tea or cocktails along side with Ceylon cinnamon.
